Marielle Oetjen

Marielle has over 18 years of experience in nonprofit and foundation administration, management and development. She most recently served as the Associate Regional Director for the American Friends Service Committee, overseeing programs addressing immigrant rights, fair trade, and peacebuilding and conflict resolution in Denver, Austin, and the Pine Ridge Reservation in South Dakota. She is an experienced consultant, providing services in fundraising, strategic planning and facilitation. Her clients have included the Denver Foundation, the Ms. Foundation for Women, the Colorado Farm & Art Market and the Colorado Criminal Justice Reform Coalition.

Marielle’s previous experience in nonprofit organizations includes serving as a Program Officer for the Gill Foundation, administering portfolios of national LGBT and HIV/AIDS organizations worth over $2.2 million in 2001. Her work there also involved extensive technical assistance to grantees and applicants on fundraising, organizational capacity building and program development. She has worked for Bicycle Colorado, a statewide advocacy organization, and served as the Director of Education & Public Relations for the Consumer Credit Counseling Service of Southern Colorado. In that position she represented CCCS to various local and national media, including providing research for and appearing in the popular national PBS special and subsequent book, Affluenza. Marielle holds a B.A. from Columbia University in New York, NY.
